Hello, I’m Emma. I am 22 and from Stafford. Over the coming year, I will be part of the volunteer team at St. Cassian’s Retreat Centre, Kintbury, within the Portsmouth Diocese. As a lifelong practicing Catholic, I have always been aware of CAFOD and its incredible work. As an adult I have developed a better understanding of the importance of CAFOD’s work and the issues they raise for global justice. We are all called by God to help our brothers and sisters throughout the world as we are all one family of God and seeing CAFOD’s work has inspired me to live my faith through action and deeds.

This year I am excited to have the opportunity to witness and become part of CAFOD’s amazing work. I hope to make a real difference in the world and inspire others especially the young people who come on retreat to get involved with CAFOD, as collectively we can make a real change.
I am inspired by CAFOD’s ethos of equipping people with the skills and resources they need so that they can support themselves, their families and community. I am excited about CAFOD’s ‘Reclaim our common home’ campaign and the opportunity to represent CAFOD at COP26
This year will give me the opportunity to grow in faith, live in service of others and impact my life and the lives of people around me in a positive way.
