Our week in Rome!

As we boarded the plane at eight thirty in the morning, we were all tired and looking forward to a week away in beautiful Italy! The two hour flight went by quickly and soon enough we were all embracing the sun and the heat as we travelled to our campsite. The chalets we stayed in were more than enough for us and the pool was just amazing! On the Tuesday we all went to the Vatican and spent the day going up and around St Peters Basilica, something that took all of our breathes away. In the evening we went to have a look around the headquarters of the De la Salle brothers and found out even more things about the history of the Lasallian network.

The Wednesday provided us with an opportunity to go to the Papal audience in the Vatican and although Pope Francis only came out for a couple of minutes, we still saw him and had a lovely day! On Thursday, our last full day in Rome we spent it going around all of the tourist sites including the Colosseum, the Trevi fountain, and the Spanish steps! Overall we had an amazing time in Rome and all of us loved every minute of the time we got to spend together and become even closer as a community!
